Ingram is an intriguing prospect, mainly because of his versatility. He can play both 3-4 OLB or 4-3 DE; however due to his lack of height, is probably better suited to play in a 3-4 scheme. As a D-lineman, Ingram had a very productive senior season with 48 tackles, 15 TFL and 10 sacks. He is very athletic for his size and possesses a nice repertoire of moves: he features a good spin move that enables him to easily shed blocks. He also has the ability to drop into coverage but may struggle in Man when matched up with taller TE's. Ingram has good recognition in diagnosing run vs pass; also exhibits great instincts, very rarely gets fooled by play action. On the downside, he only has one year of starter experience; as a result, he plays out of control at times and has displayed poor balance, finding himself on the ground too much. Ingram has a ton of upside but doesn't have a defined role. He needs to go to a team that will use him all over the field.
Compares to (Current NFL Player): Lawrence Timmons or Michael Boley Strengths - Good motor - Scheme versatile - Athleticism Weaknesses - Undersized - Tweener - Doesn't consistantly wrap up |
