Report Prepared: February 12, 2012

Michael Brockers is a physical specimen at 6 foot 6 inches and 310 pounds. He has some dynamic ability as a 3-4 defensive end, and also could be a potential two-gapper, adding to his versatility. Brockers can penetrate and cut down runs in the backfield, and also displays some decent push as a pass rusher. The raw talent is there for Brockers to be an elite NFL starter.

Before Brockers becomes elite, however, he needs to revamp his technique badly. He gets far too high in his stance, and can be pushed off the ball in the run game. Brockers, as currently constituted, probably will not meet expectations immediately if a team wants him to start right away. Given some development time, he could be very good, but Brockers has to get better at the point of attack if he wants to succeed in the NFL.

Brockers may not constitute the instant presence that would merit a first round pick, but 3-4 defensive ends tend to have a bit more leeway when it comes to instant impact. Brockers could eventually become a very good defensive end, but he would benefit most from getting some time to learn the nuances of the game, bulking up and improving his technique. Brockers could eventually be a top-tier defensive end.

Compares to (Current NFL Player): Ziggy Hood (Steelers)

Strengths
- Looks the part of a 3-4 defensive end; versatile
- Shows some penetrating ability against the run
- Active hands when rushing the passer
- Athletic: gets relatively good burst
- Able to take up multiple blockers and still factor in on plays

Weaknesses
- Plays WAY too high at times
- Not exceptionally strong against the run, unless he penetrates
- Gets beat at the point of attack a lot
- Not the highest effort guy in the world
