In February of this year, several NFL players were ready to participate in a charity poker tournament at the Golden nugget Casino in Las Vegas. The event raised money for 'The Pros for Africa', a non-profit organization providing for children in need in Africa and 'The Starkey Hearing Foundation'. Unfortunately, the NFL disallowed their football players to participate and they had to contribute their support from the sidelines. Poker professional Annie Duke who used to be part of Team Ultimate Bet, one of the four US poker rooms that had to close their doors after April 15, does a lot for charity. Although the NFL professionals did not actually played poker, the event was a big hit and raised a lot of money.
