All Scouting Reports Prospect Video Prospect Bio

Feeney caught my eye because he has some nastiness to his game which I like in an NFL prospect. A quick study, after starting all 12 games as a true freshman, Dan was named to the All Big-Ten Team in 2015 (1st Team by media, 2nd Team by coaches) and has allowed just 1 sack in 36 career starts at ROG (2,617 snaps). In 2015, he allowed no sacks in 431 called pass plays by the Hoosiers and recorded a team-best 91 knockdowns in 967 snaps. He is on both the Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award watch list for 2016.

Feeney is a strong inline blocker who protects the inside gap and is dominant when down blocking. Although he plays the offensive tackle position efficiently, his size and athleticism are better suited for offensive guard position at the next level of competition.

A highly aggressive guard prospect with the physicality and nastiness to bury defenders in the trenches, Feeney has to learn how to stay in control and pace himself as a blocker. He is too eager at times, allowing his weight to get out over his toes and causing him to whiff on blocks in space. Dan needs to work on his technique to remain consistent with running his feet through contact.

Compares to (Current NFL Player): Kevin Zeitler, Cincinnati Bengals

Strengths
- Physical, nasty and plays through the whistle
- Strong inline blocker who regularly pancakes opponents
- 4-year starter on the Hoosier's offensive line
- Good footwork on pass protection
- Equally adept in both man and zone blocking techniques

Weaknesses
- Control aggressiveness, keep balance on blocking
- Don't allow weight to get over toes and whiff on blocks
- Maintain short, wide choppy steps through contact
