PK   TEAM SELECTION COMMENTS
49
Vladimir Ducasse
Massachusetts
OT

Reach (-7)
San Francisco
The born and raised Haiti native had a few tough weeks following the major earthquake that devistated much of his home country. With all things considered, Ducassee forged ahead with courage and bravery which says a lot about his character. The Niners are real big on drafting good character guys with talent to match. The UMass tackle/ guard would be the perfect mold to fit in with what the 49ers like. By drafting two early offensive lineman, the Niners would head in to the '10-'11 Season in good shape. -Drew Kerr Drafttek 49ers Analyst
50
Terrence Cody
Alabama
DT34

Value (+1)
Kansas City
Even losing lots of weight hasn't stopped Cody from falling on the draft boards. At this spot, he is good value, but Todd Haley may have to ban him from all the KC BBQ joints. Merlin DT Chiefs Analyst
51 *
Dominique Franks
Oklahoma
CB

Value (+8)
Houston
Good value in the 2nd round, the make-over of the Texans' defensive backfield continues as the Sooner CB is added to the mix. Franks provides a "2 for 1" value at this selection, as he has excellent return capabilities to add to an already improving special teams unit. - Long Ball, DOF
52
Jonathan Dwyer
Georgia Tech
RBF

Value (+7)
Pittsburgh
With Fast Willie Parker aging and un-signed, the Steelers are in the market for another running back. Dwyer might be the best power back in this draft. He runs hard, with low pad level. He isn't a receiving threat and he doesn't have break away speed. Dwyer would be a great late game grinder. Will OC Bruce Arians put the kibosh on a sledgehammer of a back who isn't a receiving threat? Patrick Robinson and Nate Allen would be good alternates here. Patrick (Drafttek Steelers Analyst)
53
Colt McCoy
Texas
QB

Value (+9)
New England
A QB? In round two? Tom Brady didn't tear his other ACL, did he? I assure you, he did not. Then why was a QB taken here? Simple - BPA. Does New England absolutely need a QB, especially this early? No. But the numbers were right for it. Brady will be 33 by the time the season begins and could start to slow down soon. And who's behind him? Are you comfortable with Brian Hoyer or Jeff Rowe? Don't give me the "Matt Cassel spiel" either. If McCoy was there and could sit behind Brady for 3-4 years learning, would you be willing to sacrifice the Pats' third (and last) 2nd round pick? I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. Crazier things have happened.
54
Chad Jones
LSU
SS

Reach (-3)
Cincinnati
With Roy Williams back and Crocker at the FS position, this would be a perfect spot to snag a talent like Jones who could benefit from a year of seasoning. Jones is one of the most talented S's in the draft but with the tutelage of Roy Williams, he could turn into something very special. - Derek Rose (Drafttek Bengals Analyst)
55
Nate Allen
South Florida
FS

Value (+7)
Philadelphia
Yes the Eagles signed veteran CB Marlin Jackson last week and have him as their starting FS, but he's a question mark with knee issues. Additionally, there's no depth! Macho Harris and Quintin Demps couldn't stay on the field, and starting SS Sean Jones is a Unrestricted Free Agent. Eagles need a player that can fill in the void left by Dawkins. It will be hard to replace Dawkins, but I believe Nate Allen can produce the results the fan are looking for. - Scott Mesquita (Drafttek EaglesAnalyst)
56
Brandon Ghee
Wake Forest
CB

Reach (-4)
Green Bay
Ghee has the size and speed the Packers covet at the cornerback position. A physical corner and great leaper, Ghee can play zone or man coverage. His technique and footwork are sometimes lacking, which results in Ghee being somewhat inconsistent. With the right coaching, Ghee could develop into a very good corner in the league. - Al Bracco (Drafttek Packers Analyst)

PK   TEAM SELECTION COMMENTS
57
Alex Carrington
Arkansas State
DE34

Reach (-24)
Baltimore
Carrington is a big body from a smaller school so some may question how he will handle his jump to the big leagues. However his size and speed on the edge is hard to ignore. Despite some concerns about his overall consistency, he'd be a great addition to a Ravens defense that is getting a little long in the tooth..- Bryan Chen, DraftTek Ravens Analyst
58
Tim Tebow
Florida
QB

Value (+4)
Arizona
Surprise, surprise, surprise - and yes, I did move QB to a P3 because I don't trust Leinart. Let's see, how about these: 1) receiving corps is good enough to make up for lack of accuracy, or 2) need more practice at catching left-handed spirals? Any number of players woulda/coulda/shoulda been the preference, but sticking with QB: I would prefer Tony Pike or Dan LeFevour over the Drafttek model choice of Tebow. - Long Ball, DOF
59
Chris Cook
Virginia
CB

Reach (-6)
Dallas
The Cowboys visited at length with the Virginia CB about playing FS; however, he may be tough to move off the corner, as big WR's run rampant in the NFC East. Cook long-jumped 11 feet at his pro-day (the longest of any prospect this year at any position) and has continued to "jump up" the Big Board! - Long Ball, DOF
60
Patrick Robinson
Florida State
CB

Value (+13)
San Diego
Solid value pick. Patrick Robinson is extremely athletic with good size, but not very physical and lacking in consistency. He could step in, start Day 1 at nickel and almost immediately make Chargers fans forget about Antonio Cromartie. Or he'll remind them of Cromartie - one of the two. Brett Stott (Drafttek Chargers Analyst)
61
John Jerry
Mississippi
OG

Value (+0)
NY Jets
Peria's little brother provides needed insurance to keep the Jets OL running at peak performance. In the event of injury to a key starter, Jerry will step right in and allow Greene/Washington/Tomlinson to make frequent forays into the secondaries of the Bills, Dolphins and yes, the Patriots! - Drafttek Staff
62
Tyson Alualu
California
DT43

Value (+9)
Minnesota
Honestly, I'm not too excited about this one. Alualu is a solid prospect who has the non-stop motor that teams love. However, I just don't see him fitting on the roster at this point. This year, he would compete with Letroy Guion for the 5th DT spot, but I don't think it would be wise for the Vikings to give up on the Guion project just yet. A QB like Tony Pike or OT like Jared Veldheer might have been better options. - Brett Stott (Drafttek Vikings Analyst)
63
Sean Lee
Penn State
ILB

Reach (-7)
Indianapolis
Not sure if Lee is the LB the Colts really desire here, mainly because Indy has been bitten quite a few times by players coming off previous injuries and then having them recur. His biggest asset is usually one of Indy's lesser used options: getting to the QB. But he does get to the ball well and plays well against the pass. - Rick McGlothlin (Drafttek Colts Analyst)
64
Eric Norwood
South Carolina
OLB43

Reach (-9)
New Orleans
Solid backer that New Orleans will need to fill the holes left by Fujita and Simoneau, and the potentially soon-to-be-let-go or demoted Scott Shanle. Norwood could be taken out on passing downs, as he's too slow and not agile enough to keep up with anyone out of the backfield or a speedy tight end. Against the run, however, he's instinctive, moves well sideline to sideline, gets to the ball and is a solid tackler. - Rick McGlothlin (Drafttek Saints Analyst)

2nd Round Traded Selections:
*42) Tampa Bay gets Chicago 2nd rounder (compensation for Gaines Adams)
*44) New England gets Jacksonville 2nd rounder (used to select Derek Cox in the 2009 draft)
*47) New England gets Tennessee 2nd rounder (used to select TE Jared Cook in the 2009 draft)
*51) Kansas City gets Atlanta 2nd rounder (Tony Gonzalez compensation)
