Draft Tek Classic Mock - Mike Schottey Three Round Mock
Mike's Mock Revision #4

1) Detroit Lions (0-16) Aaron Curry (LB Wake Forest)
Ways to find out my feelings with this pick? Head on over to the DraftTek blog or over to Mlive.com/Lions (click on NFL Draft Expert Audio) Curry is a force. Stafford is just the best (maybe) QB in a bad class.
2) St Louis Rams (2-14) Eugene Monroe (OT Virginia)
The Rams need a OT to replace Orlando Pace. Curry would be looked at if he fell here but rumors point to them being very pleased Monroe is available.
3) Kansas City (2-14) Jason Smith (OT Baylor)
Jason Smith is far and away the most athletic OT prospect in a while. His footwork leaves a lot to be desired but a team like KC is going to be getting a great pass protecting talent.
4) Seattle Seahawks (4-12) Matthew Stafford (QB Georgia)
If zero hour passes and Detroit passes on Stafford, Seattle is the only team likely to draft him soon after. They get a nice understudy for Hasselbeck in the twilight of his career.
5) Cleveland Browns (4-12) Brian Orakpo (DE/OLB Texas)
This is my lock pick of March.Orakpo is the top rush linebacker of this draft. Although Mangini would be intruiged with a Raji fall (who could play 3-4 DE), Orakpo will provide a rush in Cleveland not seen since the last Rib festival.
6) Cincinnati Bengals (4-11-1) Knowshon Moreno (RB Georgia)
Cinci can go a lot of ways but Moreno is the top rusher in the draft. He'll give them offensive flexibility like no one else can.
7) Oakland Raiders (5-11) Jeremy Maclin (WR Missouri)
Al Davis needs a wide reciever. If he believes Crabtree is the best without a 40-time then he'll take him. I think he needs that assurance.
8) Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11) BJ Raji (DT Boston College)
After drafting a couple of rushers last year, Jax needs to shore up the middle long term. Raji makes the last couple of draft picks a lot better.

9) Green Bay Packers (6-10) Malcolm Jenkins (CB/FS Ohio State)
Green Bay wants Raji and will trade if he's not there. If they're unable to trade they will shore up the defensive backfield which is older than many GMs would be comfortable with.
10) San Francisco 49ers (7-9) Michael Crabtree(WR Texas Tech)
Crabtree dropping is a dream for a team hoping Issac Bruce plays one more season. None of those QBs are going to succeed without a great talent like Crabtree
11) Buffalo Bills (7-9) Tyson Jackson (DE Louisiana State)
It's been an up and down year for Tyson Jackson. Right now Jackson is the top DE prospect who is really too big to be considered a rush-OLB. Buffalo needs help defensively and Jackson is worth a slight reach as the only four-down DE in the top of the 2009 draftclass.
12) Denver Broncos (8-8) Rey Maualuga (ILB Southern Cal)
The defensive stop gaps installed in the mile high state are past their prime and will need to be replaced in the near future but if Maualuga is on the board he is exactly the type of linebacker who will put up great numbers as an ILB in the 3-4.
13) Washington Redskins (8-8) Mark Sanchez (QB USC)
The Redskins and Sanchez are a match made in Bill Walsh's dreamland. He fits what they want to do and Jason Campbell will be unloaded for a pick in the near future.
14) New Orleans Saints (8-8) Brian Cushing(LB USC)
Cushing gives the Saints defense a bit of swagger that it has been lacking. His versatility and ability to take on blockers frees up Vilma for a greater amount of plays.
15) Houston Texans (8-8) Peria Jerry(DT Ole Miss)
Jerry is the defensive BPA for a team that needs defense. Jerry will be able to free up Okoye and Mario Williams for a lot more plays.
16) San Diego Chargers(8-8) Andre Smith(OT Alabama)
LT needs replacing and quick. I don't think Chris Wells is the player to do that though. Although the Chargers could use some defensive help their offensive line could use a nice boost from the big bodied behemoth.
