By all accounts, the Bengals are ready to take Oregon OT Penei Sewell with the fifth overall pick. Things don't always go as planned, however, and here the Bengals will have to either reach for an OT, possibly Rashawn Slater, or snag a new weapon for Joe Burrow. Ja'Marr Chase is arguably the best WR in this draft. As long as he has taken care of his body in his COVID redshirt year, the former LSU standout should be a go-to for his old pal quickly in Cincinnati. Chase can line up in the slot or outside due to his physical play at the line, and with Tyler Boyd in the fold, Zac Taylor will be able to find matchups by moving his underrated stable of weapons around.

Senior Bowl standout Richie Grant has shot up draft boards in recent months. His range and playmaking ability were well-documented, but the speed with which he picked up new concepts and integrated them into gameplay during Senior Bowl week had coaches and scouts buzzing. Grant is a true single-high safety that is tough to find in today's NFL and will help solidify the back end of a defensive unit that badly needs improvement (and better health) in the secondary.

BENGALS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
