Simulated Trade: Giants trade pick #11 and pick #194 to Washington for picks #19, #74 and #82

The Giants should have an opportunity to swing a trade-back when the real draft comes along in April. Trey Lance may or may not be off the board by Pick #11, but there's also the polarizing Mac Jones out there, DraftTek's QB-5.

GM Dave Gettleman has options galore at #19, all guys who seemed reachy at #11 but fit nicely just 8 picks later.

WR Rashod Bateman (of 4.39 EXOS Combine fame) is available, as are a couple of nice OT prospects in Chris Darrisaw and Sam Cosmi, should Gettleman AGAIN take a fat swing at fixing the offensive line. His prior efforts brought us Andrew Thomas and Nate Solder, who BTW is planning to return to the team after a COVID year off.

Here Gettleman returns to what he's most comfortable with, and that's beefing up the DL. With Leonard Williams and Dalvin Tomlinson hitting the streets of Free Agency, Christian Barmore lands in the Meadowlands.

Arguably the Giants' biggest need is at pass-catcher, and here the team grabs the first WR off the board on Day 2. This year's group is better than the 2020 contingent, where Day 2 saw these 7 WRs drafted in the 2nd round, in this order: Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman, Laviska Shenault, K.J. Hamler and Chase Claypool, Van Jefferson, and Denzel Mims. A tough act to follow!

Marshall is an under-the-radar prospect, having played 3rd fiddle at LSU behind Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson in the 2019 championship season. Marshall led the SEC in Catching Success Rate (69.7%), First-Down %, and TDs Per Catch. An astonishing 10 of his 13 red zone targets resulted in scores.

GIANTS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS

Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.
Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".

Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
