Asante Samuel Jr. measures in at just 5'10" and 180 lbs, but don't let his size fool you. Over the past three seasons, only 196 of Samuel's 1,792 snaps have come from the slot. In 2020, Samuel allowed just 19 catches for 179 yards while posting a passer rating of 46.2 when targeted.

On passes of 20+ yards, Samuel allowed only one catch on seven targets for a passer rating of 10.1. In his own words, "The worst thing you can do is pass on me for another cornerback in this class." If he's on the board at #29, GM Brian Gutekunst may be wise to heed that advice.

New DC Joe Barry has a background coaching LBs, a position that has been a chronic weakness in GB for more than a decade. The belief is that Barry will want a LB with speed and coverage ability, and there may not be a better cover LB in the Draft than Jabril Cox.
Cox joined LSU as a graduate transfer after a standout career at FCS-level North Dakota State and did not disappoint. In 2020, Cox racked up 3 INTs and 5 PDs while lining up all over the field for the Tigers. The Packers like Krys Barnes and Kamal Martin, but an addition like Cox could finally make the LB position a strength in GB.

PACKERS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
