Lamar just got a new toy. Adding another WR to Baltimore's offense was a draft necessity and it's come to fruition. If the Ravens are going to turn playoff berths into playoff wins more regularly, they need to expand the offense, and pass more often. This doesn't necessarily signal a move away from a run-first philosophy, but there had to be a Plan B.
Rashod Bateman's skillset fits what the Ravens need perfectly. The Minnesota star joins a receiving corps that now has a diverse set of talents. Bateman is the reliable, high-volume pass catcher that was missing from the roster. A value pick in a position of need; as always, the Ravens make drafting look easy. His draft comp is Stefon Diggs.

BAL g KC (O Brown)
A busy hour for the Ravens, at the end of RD1, concludes with a pick to address the team's biggest need. The loss of Matt Judon and Yannick Ngakoue, in Free Agency, left Baltimore with limited pass-rush options. Tyus Bowser will have a chance to be a breakout star in 2021, and Pernell McPhee returns as a veteran presence, but it was clear another option was required.
Jason Oweh didn't have any sacks in 2020, but the Ravens are betting on his immense upside. A reach? possibly. Ravens' fans may have expected a replacement OT, with the pick acquired from the Chiefs for Orlando Brown, but that can wait. If anyone can, Wink Martindale can get Jayson Oweh to reach his full potential.

BAL g KC (O Brown)
Big Ben Cleveland lands in Baltimore. The Ravens add to their interior options with the Georgia man who impressed throughout the draft process. Kevin Zeitler was signed to start at one of the Guard positions and Cleveland could push Bradley Bozeman for playing time at the other.
Cleveland has power, strength, good instincts, and a very impressive beard. Another solid pick by Eric DeCosta who is hitting most of the needs with players of value. The knock on the grade here is that the Ravens are still without a Right Tackle.

Okay, still no Right Tackle for the Ravens. Corner wouldn't appear to be the biggest need for the team, but no surprise that one has been added in this draft. Brandon Stephens may not be a well-known name, but John Harbaugh will be betting on the upside.
The former RB is a good size/speed prospect who flashed at SMU in 2020. The Ravens may look to convert him to Safety but, for now, he'll fight for snaps behind Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey.

RAVENS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
