The Washington Football Team ended training camp on Monday with a 'scrimmage-like' practice that included full-contact red zone drills and special teams work. What was seen confirmed a few themes that have emerged over the past month in Ashburn.

First off, the defense is far ahead of the offense and seems to have a chance to be a top-ten unit this season with better coaching and the addition of Chase Young (who, by all accounts, looks like an absolute monster). Second, while Dwayne Haskins has been named the starter, he has been up-and-down, often sailing throws when he misses which can lead to bad INTs. Lastly, and perhaps most interestingly, the offense is going to include plenty of motion through the backfield as well as a healthy amount of two-back sets which will allow the team to motion one back out as a wide receiver. Why does this matter? Well, the Redskins have two former WRs in their RB room in JD McKissick and rookie Antonio Gibson. With limited offensive weapons, a weak left side of the offensive line, and an unproven second-year quarterback, having a system that can create mismatches with athletic backs is a big deal. After Terry McLaurin, I expect a RB to lead the team in catches in 2020.

As for the rest of the craziness swirling around this franchise, I would like to commend Ron Rivera. He has taken on a challenge no one could expect him truly handle, and he has handled it with dignity, transparency, and grace. On top of everything going on, he is battling cancer and has remained steadfast in his mission of creating a new, sustainable culture for a franchise that has lacked class since Dan Snyder bought the team over 20 years ago. Here's to you, Ron-we are all rooting for you.

WASHINGTON HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS

Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.
Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".

Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
