The Bills have been mocked Breece Hall throughout the process, with many draft pundits claiming he'd be the missing piece to this offense. I never believed that Brandon Beane, who is solid with analytics, would take a RB in the first round. Why would he? The roster has gaping holes (yes, plural) at CB. The addition of Kaiir Elam, who was projected to be a top four CB, will be a welcome one as he will immediately start opposite Tre White. Elam, White, and Taron Johnson could form a formidable group of starting CBs with an elite pair of safeties on the back end. This defense is built to contend with an insanely powerful AFC and this move keeps the Super Bowl window firmly open.

2022 Draft trade
The Bills were interested in a running back to ultimately replace 2023 free agent Devin Singletary and Zach Moss who hasn't panned out. GM Brandon Beane was hoping Breece Hall or Kenneth Walker would be available at #57. They were gone however, allowing the Bills to trade back, collect picks, and draft 8.9 RAS James Cook from Georgia.

Terrel Bernard had 62 solo tackles, 7.5 sacks and four passes defended for the underrated Baylor defense. He will provide a needed push for Tremaine Edmunds who, although still an asset to the team, has been subject to criticism as his impact has not met expectations.

BILLS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
