Quay Walker was a noted riser, often listed as a surprise first-round pick, before being mocked to Green Bay by several national outlets earlier today. This shouldn't be a total shock, but it still feels like it is. Green Bay historically devalued the ILB position before giving De'Vondre Campbell a lucrative extension and now investing an RD1 selection in Walker. The Packers are betting on Walker's athleticism (9.63 RAS) over college production (5 sacks and 11 TFL on his career). With some talented pass rushers on the board and a huge need at WR, this feel like a reach.

The Packers are apparently trying to re-create the Georgia Bulldogs defense. Green Bay has now taken CB Eric Stokes, LB Quay Walker, and DL Devonte Wyatt with their last three RD1 picks. Wyatt is going to be a tremendous addition to Green Bay's front seven. Wyatt has exceptional burst and agility, with a pass-rush win rate of 13.1% and a run stop rate of 11.5% that are both elite. Though WR has gotten all the buzz this offseason, GM Brian Gutekunst appears to have assembled a championship-caliber defense.

Welcome to the #Packers, Devonte Wyatt!
— Eli Berkovits (@BookOfEli_NFL) April 29, 2022
Wyatt has great speed for a guy his size to go along with plenty of power. This run defense is gonna be SCARY!
Career stats:
- 113 tackles
- 12 TKFL
- 5 sacks
- 2 FF

2022 Draft trade
The Packers finally got aggressive to nab a wide receiver. Christian Watson has the size and speed to replace Marquez Valdes-Scantling as a deep threat that takes the top off the defense. Watson averaged 18.6 yards per catch last year, and offers value as an All-American kick returner. Watson, who has exceptional upside at Green Bay's greatest position of need, is a huge win for the Packers.

Though Sean Rhyan took all but three of his 2,150 career snaps at LT, he profiles as an interior lineman at the next level. Rhyan, who has a 9.35 RAS at guard, has allowed just one sack and 24 pressures over his past 19 starts. The addition of Rhyan probably indicates that Elgton Jenkins is in the Packers' long-term plans at RT.

PACKERS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
