The Bengals make a value selection here in the first. They look past some quality TE and S prospects to bolster an already strong edge group. Murphy should be a quality rotational player, perhaps slotting in to replace Hendrickson in a couple years.

Murphy was a force off the edge for the tigers with 6.5 sacks and 40 tackles in 2022. He pairs an already impressive and improving array of counters with a long physique and lightning quick hands to torment opposing tackles. He's a consistent high effort defender whose game is still very much improving. The Bengals should be looking for a TE and a Safety heading into day 2.

The Bengals bolster the secondary with a versatile player and elite athlete in Turner. He can play outside or in the slot. His 4.26-40 speed will be an asset in zone schemes as the Bengals contend with the elite quarterbacks in the AFC. He's an instinctive corner who's combative at the catch point with 10 pass break ups in 2022 for the Wolverines.

With Bates and Bell leaving a hole at Safety, the Bengals finally pivot to addressing needs on the roster. Battle is a heady player who is rarely out of position and should be able to contribute quickly. He's a dependable high floor / low ceiling player who was productive for the Tide with 71 tackles and 2 INTs in 2022. His lack of speed and physicality might limit his career arc.
