The Chargers head into 2022 in an enviable position, boasting a rising superstar at QB, a rebuilt offensive line and Khalil Mack heading a batch of reinforcements for last year's leaky defense. They have a bright young mind for a head coach and a top GM pulling the strings. So yeah, they better win now. They enjoy the league's sixth best odds of winning it all, and are favored to make the playoffs.
The AFC West figures to be an absolute dogfight, but the Chargers are loaded up and ready for it.
When they do restock, they love athletic, versatile defenders they can plug into various alignments. Trenton Simmons of Clemson is a pass rushing linebacker with all kinds of promise. After seven sacks and 11 QB hits last season, he's even had the words "Micah Parsons" uttered in his general direction. We'll see about all that, but the former five-star recruit figures to be landing in the late first-round territory we expect if things go well for the Bolts this year.

CHARGERS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
