Entering the offseason, the Indianapolis Colts had a lot of room for improvement after another disappointing season, finishing with a 9-8 record and missing the playoffs after an embarrassing loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. They didn't have a first-round pick or a reliable quarterback. But despite the hurdles, General Manager Chriss Ballard and Co. seem to have done well filling holes left by departing free agents or upgrading positions that were obvious weak points in 2021.
The biggest position of improvement was the quarterback. A year ago, Indy invested their 2022 first-round pick for Carson Wentz. A move questioned by most and eventually proven to be a mistake. Ballard quickly shipped him off to Washington before replacing him with an obvious upgrade in Matt Ryan, signed for the next two years. On the offensive line, veteran Eric Fisher left in free agency after a turbulent spell with the Colts. He will likely be replaced by veteran Matt Pryor or rookie Bernhard Raimann to go along with Quenton Nelson, Ryan Kelly, and Braden Smith - all coming back from an injury-riddled 2021 season. On the defensive line, to go with Kwity Paye and Deforest Buckner, Indianapolis replaced Al-Quadin Muhammad and Kemoko Turay with Yannick Ngakoue via trade and Eric Johnson in the draft. While the pass rush could still use some work - something Myles Murphy from this mock draft could certainly help out with - the future certainly looks bright, and Colts fans must seem pleased with the team's all-in philosophy.

COLTS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
