Old habits die hard as GM Brian Gutekunst continues to build on the defensive side of the ball. Lukas Van Ness fits so much of what the Packers look for in the draft. Van Ness is a high-motor performer in a premier position with a 9.39 RAS.

Van Ness, who had 46 pressures last year despite never starting a game at Iowa, has the versatility to contribute as both a defensive end and stand-up pass rusher. With the nickname "Hercules," Green Bay will be hoping Van Ness can improve a run defense that allowed 5.0 yards/carry last season. He can earn early reps as Rashan Gary returns from an ACL injury while projecting as a long-term option to replace Preston Smith.

The Packers got Jordan Love a weapon in TE Luke Musgrave, who has great hands and experience both in-line and from the slot. Musgrave was a focal point of the Oregon State offense, logging 3.38 yards/route run before injuries derailed his 2022 season after two games. Musgrave, who topped 20 mph at the Senior Bowl, could be an excellent field stretcher in Green Bay's offense.

Jayden Reed can immediately compete for snaps as a WR3 in Green Bay. Reed's production dipped in 2022, but he ranks in the 98th percentile for breakout age and 73rd percentile for dominator rating. His 6.74 RAS is dragged down by his size and explosion, but he has inside-outside versatility and adds value as a punt returner. Ranked at 107 Overall on our Big Board, he's a bit of a reach in RD2.

After adding Tucker Kraft, Green Bay has transformed its TE room on Day 2. Kraft is another decorated athlete with a 9.68 RAS, but he has a better resume than Musgrave as a run blocker. Kraft still offers a lot as a pass catcher with 2.32 yard/route run and 7.7 YAC/reception. The Packers needed to add weapons for Jordan Love, and they can rest easy tonight knowing they accomplished that goal.
