Using the pick acquired from the Broncos in exchange for the rights to (almost retired) head coach Sean Payton, the Saints grab a great fit for the black-and-gold defense. Bryan Bresee started games in all 3 years he was at Clemson. The disruptive D-lineman recorded 15 TFLs, including 9 sacks in 25 games. Still only 21 years old, Bresee could provide a significant upgrade to the interior of New Orleans' defensive line. An excellent blend of size, athleticism, and competitive toughness, Bresee is also a versatile player who lined up all over the front line at Clemson.

The Saints add more needed help on the D-line. Foskey has been a pass-rushing fiend for the Fighting Irish for the last few years. He had 11 sacks in each of the last two years and set the career record against Boston College late this past season before extending it to 26.5 total with 1.5 sacks in his final game against USC. Cameron Jordan is entering the final year of his contract, Marcus Davenport is gone, and Payton Turner has yet to prove his RD1 status. Great choice!

I assume that Kendre Miller's pass catching ability pushed him above other RBs for this choice. Miller has good vision and carried the rock well for TCU. He averaged over 7 yards per carry in his first two years, before breaking out in 2022 with 1,399 rushing yards and 17 TD runs in 14 games. The Saints need an RB to spell Alvin Kamara, but this is a bit of a surprise. There are several RBs that DraftTek had ranked above him that seemed better fits, including Roschon Johnson, Eric Gray, and Kenny McIntosh. Grade: D+
