The Houston Texans finally have reasons to be optimistic!

After a tremendous 2022 NFL Draft that saw Houston select two premier talents in the form of CB Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner, and OG Kenyon Green, the Texans look poised to compete in an up for grabs AFC South. Much of this will depend on the level of play from 2nd year QB Davis Mills, who looks to prove himself as the long-term signal-caller for this embattled Houston franchise. If Houston possesses the first overall pick in 2023, it is likely Nick Caserio will be taking a QB with said selection. However, we will stick with the Davis Mills optimism and instead draft the guy who would have been selected 1st overall if he would have come out in 2022, and that's Will Anderson, EDGE from Alabama!

Anderson's 2021 stats are honestly the stuff legends are made of! He had the most sacks of any player at 17.5, the most tackles for loss at 34.5, and 69 (NICE) QB hits which tied for second! The fact that he was denied even a single Heisman vote last year is an embarrassment on all who vote for the award!

Houston GM Nick Caserio has done a bang-up job trying to improve this offensive line around Davis Mills!

Nick will use this selection obtained from the Cleveland Browns to further bolster the trenches by selecting Peter Skoronski, OT from Northwestern!

Peter is a freakishly strong OT prospect who is currently rated the highest on most preseason draft boards! He offers a ton of versatility and could play OT or OG for Houston!

TEXANS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS

Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.
Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".

Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
