Of their 30 pre-draft visits, the Steelers spent 14 on O-linemen. A deep class for Tackle, a position of premium value, the Steelers took advantage to get a player that might be a top-15 in a typical class. Fautanu is a tenacious blocker with active hands who will help re-establish the running game in Pittsburgh, a key objective of new OC Arthur Smith. He doesn't have elite height but has an excellent wingspan with 34.5" arms to play on the edge.
Incumbent LT Dan Moore Jr. has reached his ceiling as a middling NFL tackle. The team would like to move Broderick Jones to LT and plug the rookie in on the right side.
The Steelers still have some big holes in their roster at WR and Center. This pick will lose some luster if they can't get a Center soon. Expect them to be active on Day 2 to maneuver into position to address those needs. Grade: A

The Steelers cut under-performing Center Mason Cole this offseason and then whiffed in replacing him via free agency. It became clear that the team was going to address the Center position in the draft. They resisted the urge to jump up to grab the last of the top-tier OTs, patience paid off and the team landed Zach Frazier with the rest of the picks in-tact.
Frazier is the most plug-and-play ready Center in this draft with 37 games at center for the Mountaineers. He is a powerful mauler with a coveted championship wrestler background. Addressing the center position is the last piece missing in the 2-year O-Line transformation. The only way he could be a better fit for the Steelers is if he arrived in town by riding a coal barge down the Monongahela from Morgantown. Let's go! Grade: A

STEELERS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
