The Commanders did what we all thought they would and took a QB. Jayden Daniels has been universally lauded throughout the draft process and is the top QB on some teams' boards-even over Caleb Williams. I'll start with my concerns. I prefer Drake Maye. I believe Maye makes better anticipatory throws and has a superior build for the position. Jayden Daniels is pretty much my size and I can't imagine not being vaporized when hit by an NFL defender.
Jayden's ability, though, is unquestioned. By all accounts he is also a great leader and a tireless worker, even diving into VR to study progressions for 4+ hours per day in the offseason. I can't give this selection anything less than an A. He's the player they wanted, a player many teams covet across the league, and he's a quarterback? A home-run for Adam Peters and Dan Quinn. This pick could be exactly what Washington needs to get out from under the left behind by Dan Snyder's destructive ways.
Grade: A

Adam Peters had a plethora of needs to fill on day 2. I'm sure he's glad he has 5 picks to fill the needs of the Commanders. Here, Peters grabs an incredible value in DT Jer'Zhan Newton at pick 36. The 'Skins now have 3 (hopefully) premiere defensive tackles. Will Jonathan Allen and/or Newton shift out to end at times? If not, this pick, while a great value, doesn't seem to make a ton of sense.

Still no offensive tackle! It's clear Adam Peters is drafting true to his board. CB Mike Sainristil was possibly the best defensive player on the national-champion Michigan Wolverines. He started as a WR in Ann Arbor, and those ball skills translate to his excellent play at defensive back. He's a great leader and might immediately start on the inside for Dan Quinn's defense.

With their third pick in RD2 --and the second in ten minutes after a trade-down with the division rival Eagles -- the Washington Commanders select…TE Ben Sinnott! I actually called this pick. I'm quite happy to have helped my friends win $$ with Sinnot as the second TE. Sinnot, a former walk-on at Kansas State, is a dirty blocker and is great after the catch. He's exactly the type of 'tough guy' Adam Peters covets.

COMMANDERS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
