The LA Chargers have executed a remarkable turnaround with a back-to-basics approach in Jim Harbaugh's first year, but there are still a few signature pieces lacking. QB Justin Herbert has thrived by cutting mistakes and using his arm and leg talent judiciously, but top Tight End Will Dissly is outside the top 20 in receiving yards or targets at his position. One would expect top-10 production from Harbaugh's tight end, especially with the uneven performance of wideouts like Quentin Johnston and DJ Chark.
Michigan's Colston Loveland is a known quantity for Harbaugh, ever since Harbaugh visited Loveland's Idaho high school on a recruiting visit. Loveland thrived in Ann Arbor, becoming a top target for JJ McCarthy during U-M's 2023 BCS title run. An athletic former basketball player, Loveland is a route runner and pass catcher who is a willing if not gifted blocker. His impressive catch radius and football IQ can create a new favorite outlet for Herbert.
Colston Loveland officially declared for #2025NFLDraft and will enter the league with one of the better experience-adjusted production profiles Production percentiles vs drafted TEs since 2013: Freshman - 84th Percentile Sophomore - 94th Percentile Junior - 95th Percentile

CHARGERS HISTORICAL DRAFT PICKS
Reach/Value (R/V) Explained
The difference between where a player is selected in the NFL draft versus where the player was listed on the final Drafttek Big Board for the season in question.Example: A player who was listed at #50 on the Big Board and was selected at #35 will be a "Reach" of -15. Alternately, a player listed at #35 on the Big Board who was selected at #50 is a +15 "Value".
Simply put: a positive number is a Value pick, a negative number is a Reach.
