It was a disappointing season, marred by injuries for the 49ers, but this remains a talented roster that saw early returns from its 2024 draft class, and will be anxious to repeat that success in 2025. Getting back to winning the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball should be the theme of this draft.
This is a deep class for both offensive and defensive linemen and the Niners need upgrades. Despite the free agent signings of Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos, San Francisco has yet to present a consistent pass rush threat opposite Nick Bosa. That could change with the addition of a player like Tennessee EDGE James Pearce Jr.
Though his technique is raw, and he's struggled against the run, Pearce is a dynamic pass rusher with plenty of space to grow and learn. He may need to start out as a situational rusher, but can quickly grow to an every down player as he puts on more weight, and refines his game.
