This Saturday, the Houston Texans welcome Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles charges to NRG Stadium as this team continues to overcome the cloud of "sophomore slump" hanging over the heads of both QB CJ Stroud and HC DeMeco Ryans. They've done this off the back of some special players on defense including Derek Stingley Jr who has only allowed a passer rating of 56.9 and completion percentage of 46.7.
In this mock, Houston looks to continue the trend by doubling down on defensive aggression by selecting Derrick Harmon, DT out of Oregon!
Harmon is a freakishly strong 3 tech DT with three-down potential. Harmon is a swift and violent mover who gets into the offensive backfield with ease as a powerful run stuffer. Harmon takes no plays off and stays active and disruptive throughout 4 quarters of football. In 2024 Derrick recorded 45 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups this season. The exact kind of player the Texans need if they are going to stay on top of an ever deepening AFC South!
