Evaluated by: James Siebers jsiebers1003@gmail.com ![]() Nasir Adderley may not be a household name, but it's looking like he could be one of the Draft's fastest risers. Adderley was a two-star recruit that almost immediately established himself as a big-time playmaker at Delaware. Though coming from an FCS-program, Adderley's all-around game should make him one of the more attractive prospects this April. Adderley has the range and instincts to excel in zone coverage in the NFL. He has the ability to drop back in single-high coverage and make plays from sideline to sideline. He processes and recognizes routes quickly, has the loose hips to change direction and close on the ball, and shows the ball skills to contest at the catch point and create turnovers (11 career INTs). Though Adderley may lack experience in man coverage, the former CB has the physical skills to project well. Adderley has smooth footwork, fluid hips, and exceptional short-area quickness. He sometimes struggles to turn and find the ball in man assignments, but Adderley has the athletic potential to mirror receivers all over the field. ![]() Many players with strong coverage traits tend to struggle as tacklers, but Adderley appears to excel in this area as well. He attacks ball carriers with proper form and technique, squaring up his target and reliably bringing them to the ground. Adderley can deliver a blow with some pop, with the situational awareness to know when to go for the big hit and when to wrap up. At times, Adderley can be overaggressive with angles and too willing to engage with blockers. However, he is a generally reliable tackler with great effort in pursuit. Due to his balanced overall game, Adderley should be able to line up all over the field in a variety of defensive schemes. He has the range to play deep in single-high looks, the physicality and tackling skills to drop into the box, and the athletic traits to line up in the slot. ![]() Bottom Line At first glance, Nasir Adderley appears to be a complete player. His athletic traits, tackling ability, and approach to the game indicate that he could be an early contributor at the next level. However, Adderley will be facing a huge leap in level of competition as he makes the jump from FCS to NFL. Though he will surely face many challenges to prove he belongs, Nasir Adderley currently projects as an impact safety with clear RD1 upside. NFL player Comparison Earl Thomas, Seattle Seahawks (2010: Rd1, Pick 14) Strengths * Athleticism, instincts, and ball skills * Excellent range * Reliable tackler * Elite motor and competitiveness Weaknesses * Level of competition * Lack of experience in man coverage * Aggressive angles as a tackler
