Selection Analysis
Pick #58
2018 Draft Comments
April 26, 2018

58   Atlanta
Isaiah Oliver

Ht/Wt: 6'0"  201

Isaiah Oliver has been on the Falcons' radar for a long time. They've met with him at least twice and were rumored to be considering him as their pick in the first. Oliver is the sort of "long" CB that the Falcons had hoped to have in Jalen Collins, before his career flamed out. He is also the sort of big corner they need to cover the taller WR, like Mike Evans, that have plagued Desmond Trufant. Oliver is a tremendous value pick who will force Robert Alford into the slot and coverage liability Brian Poole to the bench or free safety. Once again, Atlanta has passed on filling their biggest need at DT, but have grabbed a tremendous value here in the second. The Atlanta secondary just took a big step forward.
