Return to Mock Draft

Bijan Robinson

Coming into the 2021 season there were a lot of questions surrounding the Eagles. Philly had just turned in their worst record in nearly a decade and no one quite knew what to expect from new head coach Nick Sirianni or QB Jalen Hurts entering his first full season as a starter. The Eagles were a surprise playoff team, but were unsurprisingly eliminated in the wildcard round.

Entering the 2022 season, the Eagles have bolstered their offensive and defensive lines, and the additions of WR AJ Brown and CB James Bradberry allowed them to plug in a pair of pro bowlers in at two of their biggest positions of need. The biggest question remaining for Philly is QB Jalen Hurts. By Hurts' own admission this will be the first time since high school that he has played consecutive years in the same offensive system. With increased familiarity and upgraded weapons Hurts is in an excellent position to succeed, but entering year three of a four-year rookie deal Hurts may need to bypass 'good' and have a 'great' to 'MVP-caliber' season to convince Philly to invest in him long-term rather than use their draft capital to move up and draft a potential replacement.

Assuming Hurts balls out, the Eagles will be in position to go best player available, which could lead them to someone like RB Bijan Robinson, who would be scary in a backfield alongside Hurts and could replace the oft-injured Miles Sanders who is set to be a free agent at the end of the year.
