It's celebration time. Everything worked out in Tennessee's favor and the Titans have the number one pick in the NFL Draft. The Titans need to revamp their offense and there's no better place to start than the QB position. Will Levis threw for 2,091 yards, 13 TDs and 12 INTs. That's simply not good enough. We've been over how the Titans' offense struggled all year and the blame has to be placed on the shoulders of the QB.
It's time for the Titans to get a franchise QB. That's the only way they'll grow into a playoff team. The first overall pick should come down to whichever QB Tennessee likes the best. At this point in time it looks like the conversation is between
Shedur Sanders and Cam Ward. We're giving them Miami QB Cam Ward.
I've been watching Ward ever since he transferred to WSU two seasons ago. He played well for WSU and then stepped his game up to another level this year at Miami. Ward has a strong arm, the kind you want in the NFL. His velocity is excellent. He's also a great athlete, but more than that he knows when to run. Ward is always looking to throw first when extending plays. He can run, but he's looking for the receiver first. Ward has also shown the ability to read coverages well and process through them quickly.
Ward isn't without his faults though. His early exit in the Pop Tarts Bowl left a bad taste in a lot of people's grills. While he's great at extending plays and moving around, he does fumble too often. He had eight this season. Ward needs to clean that up at the next level, especially since he'll be looked at as a franchise QB.
Whoever the Titans end up going with, it's going to be an exciting new era in Tennessee next year.
