2025 NFL Mock Draft

Selection Comment - Pick #3

Return to Mock Draft

NY Giants
Shedeur Sanders
3

Colorado

QB

GM Joe Schoen and HC Brian Daboll will be back at the helm for 2025. Once again quarterback will be the foremost issue confronting the team. All the QBs on the roster (Drew Lock, Tim Boyle, Tommy DeVito) are set for free agency, though the team will like bring back one or two of those for familiarity.

Although Drew Lock is a capable backup, he will not be considered starter material by team brass, and Joe Schoen will go hunting for a QBOTF.

Probably their best option would be to contact Minnesota on the availability of either Sam Darnold or 2024 RD1 pick JJ McCarthy. This would cost the Giants at least this pick (2025 RD1-3) and likely more as the Vikings entertain offers.

Cam Ward appears to have jumped Shedeur Sanders for the QB-1 designation on the 2025 Draft, and will not be on the table for the Giants. In our mock, the Browns pass on Sanders at #2 in favor of his Colorado teammate Travis Hunter, leaving Sanders available at #3 for the G-men.

Sanders is something of a polarizing prospect, who didn't do himself any favors with a lame Alamo Bowl performance versus BYU. Here is a thorough scouting report (via Sam Teets) for Sanders. Though it was prepared before the season the pros and cons of Sanders play still rings true. Here is a more recent report (Kyle Crabbs 33rd Team). Both arrive at the same bottom line: that Sanders is a 2nd round talent who will likely be drafted in the Top-10 of this year's Draft.

BTW here are results from the pre-season poll. Congrats to those who correctly predicted Daniel Jones TD total for 2024 (8 TD versus 7 INT):
