Gardner Minshew is not the long-term answer at QB, and there really is no time to let him play out the second year of his contract as the presumed starter. The anemic passing performance against Cleveland - just 130 yards without Davante Adams - is likely a harbinger of things to come as the superstar wide receiver appears headed out the door.
Such a move, especially with the team already straining to move the ball on the ground. They handed the ball to a WR or TE 5 times on Sunday Week 4 - just to get the running game moving. Such desperation likely will naturally improve the team's draft positioning and provide much needed draft capital to finally move up to go get a franchise player at the most important position in sports.
While this draft is, in my view, lacking in elite signal callers, it has to be presumed this is the plan for the Silver & Black, though they will have an incredible amount of cap space to acquire a current NFL starter should the opportunity present itself.
