In case my stance with Dallas' first pick wasn't clear, doubling down on the defensive side is Plan A. However, without a day-two pick, you have to wonder if the trio of Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones and Will McClay don't see value in moving down to change that. With every Green Bay loss, this Cowboys pick has the potential to be sweeter, but turning it into a pair of players would make it even better considering the current state of the defense. Yes, Dallas' up-and-down track record with recent day-two picks makes me wonder if staying put my not be the wiser choice, but it would take a heck of a prospect to ease my frustration with spending all day Friday watching everyone else in the league draft prospects.

Having said that, Bailey is that kind of prospect and I honestly think he's got a better chance at being drafted with the higher of the Cowboys' two picks. He's been the best pure pass rusher in college football this season, and that is something this year's defense has lacked for America's Team. Pairing he and Donovan Ezeiruaku would give the Cowboys a talented pair of young edge rushers to go with this new-and-improved group of defensive tackles. The Cowboys have always believed in building a unit from the inside out. It's why they've had so many great offensive lines over the years. It's time they make a similar effort on the defensive side of the ball, and the recent acquisitions of Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams would signal they realize that.
